Academic rigour. Operational reality.

Why trust us with your riskiest decisions?

Insight Risk Systems combines patented technology with decades of real-world experience in energy, mining, construction and transportation. The aim is simple: close the gap between research, policy and day-to-day operations.

Where do our methods come from?

From real incidents, not textbooks. Our machine learning algorithms were developed by analyzing decades of incident and operational data across high-hazard industries. The methods are published in leading international peer-reviewed journals, and were patented once it was clear they could directly improve companies’ risk management systems.

THE WORK BEHIND THEM INCLUDES:

Hundreds of thousands of incident records

analyzed for mining, electricity generation and distribution, and construction companies.

100+ mining operators and contractors, and 300+ subject matter experts,

engaged in bowtie work on major incident hazards.

200+ workers

in bowtie workshops held with Suncor, Energy Safety Canada and the Alberta Construction Safety Association.

Recent work

on de-risking the hydrogen value chain in Canada, automated train inspection and enhanced train control systems.

Data fusion, AI and multi-factor analysis are powerful tools. They are only useful if people can follow them. So every method is transparent, explainable and aligned with regulatory expectations.

What happens after the report?

The work continues. Insight Risk Systems doesn’t stop at a report. Our bespoke research and advisory work is tailored to your operational context, workforce and regulatory environment, and the team stays involved through deployment and organizational change, supporting leaders and front-line teams as they adopt new indicators, controls and tools.

A report on a shelf prevents nothing. The goal is real implementation, not shelfware.

Who do we work with?

Organizations where risk is business-critical:

Energy and resources

Oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, utilities and emerging energy, including hydrogen.

Government agencies and regulators

Risk-based regulatory frameworks and oversight tools that are defensible and data-driven.

Financial services and insurers

Operational risk visibility to support due diligence, pricing and portfolio decisions.

Infrastructure and construction

Serious incident and fatality precursor analysis and critical control verification across multi-site, multi-contractor work.
